Men’s Basketball Falls to CSI at Home
The Eastern Arizona College men's basketball team battled on December 15, but came up short in a 54-66 loss to the College of Southern Idaho (CSI) at home.
Kahu Treacher led the Gila Monsters with 13 points, adding seven rebounds while shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. Ryan Hunt followed with 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting, while Ryder Bush contributed 10 points and seven rebounds in a team-high 36 minutes.
Brad Ballinger provided a lift from beyond the arc, knocking down two three-pointers on his way to eight points, and Kofi Peyton added five points and five rebounds before foul trouble limited his time on the floor.
Eastern Arizona finished with 30 total rebounds, including six offensive boards, but struggled to find consistency offensively, shooting 19-of-61 (31.1%) from the field and 5-of-24 from three-point range. The Gila Monsters went 11-of-16 from the free-throw line and recorded nine assists.
Defensively, EAC tallied three steals and three blocks, but CSI capitalized on key possessions to maintain control down the stretch.
Eastern Arizona will look to bounce back as it prepares for its next matchup.
