Monsters Open Spring Win at the Estrella Mountain Lions Spring Classic
The spring season is off to a strong start for Eastern Arizona College Men's Golf, as the Monsters battled back on day two to win the Estrella Mountain Lions Spring Classic.
EAC put themselves in a great position after the opening round, finishing day one in second place—just one stroke behind Chandler-Gilbert. The Monsters kept their momentum rolling into the final round, posting another steady team performance to climb into the top spot and secure the tournament title.
Freshman Alexander Yap continued his impressive year, firing rounds of 66 and 68 (-8) to earn his second individual win of the season. Jack "John" Kaul put together one of his strongest performances to date, carding 72 and 68 (-2) to finish fifth overall and earn MVP of the Week honors.
Pavel Casas added another top-10 finish for the Monsters, going 68 and 73 (-1) to take sixth. Maximilian Nystedt and Cody Moore both came in tied for 25th, turning in consistent scores of 79–78 (+15) and 77–80 (+15).
EAC posted team scores of 283 and 287 (+2) to claim the team title and set a confident tone for the rest of the spring season.
A strong start, a comeback finish, and standout individual performances—exactly the kind of momentum the Monsters were looking for heading into the heart of their schedule.
