EAC Splits Doubleheader with Arizona Western at Home
Eastern Arizona College basketball hosted a competitive doubleheader Monday night as both the men's and women's teams squared off against Arizona Western inside Guitteau Gymnasium.
The women's basketball team opened the evening with a strong performance, earning a 66–54 victory behind another standout night from Esmeralda Enriquez, who scored 25 points and added 4 rebounds. Eanae Dagons followed with a balanced effort of 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists, helping the Monsters maintain control throughout the contest and secure the conference win.
In the nightcap, the men's basketball team battled but ultimately fell to Arizona Western, 73-82. Ty Solomon led the scoring effort with 20 points, while Ryan Hunt turned in a dominant double-double with 17 points, 16 rebounds, and 3 assists. Kahu Treacher added 15 points, keeping EAC within striking distance before AWC pulled away late.
The Monsters remain at home this weekend and will host Yavapai College on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
