Weekend Recap: Strong Performances Across the Board for the Monsters

Eastern Arizona Athletics wrapped up an eventful weekend filled with competitive matchups, solid showings, and several noteworthy results across multiple programs.

The baseball team opened its series against Luna Community College on Friday, February 6, with two impressive wins, taking the opener 13–5 and following it with a 10–0 shutout. On Saturday, the Monsters dropped a close 5–8 decision in the first game but answered with a 10–7 victory to finish the series.

Softball returned to its home field Saturday, hosting Phoenix College. Eastern stayed within striking distance in both games but fell just short, dropping contests 4–6 and 6–7. The team will enjoy a week off before returning to play.

Inside Guitteau Gymnasium, Eastern hosted the College of Southern Nevada in basketball action. The women's team delivered a strong performance in a 76–46 win, and the men's team kept the momentum going with an 86–68 victory to complete the sweep.

Looking ahead, both basketball teams are back on their home court Wednesday, February 11, when they host Arizona Western at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Baseball continues its season at home this weekend with a series against Community Christian College beginning Friday, February 13 at noon. Monster basketball will return to Guitteau Gymnasium again on Saturday, February 14, to host Yavapai at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
